The United States Postal Service recently announced their updated postage pricing for the 2021 calendar year. The following changes took effect on Sunday, January 24th:
- The cost of a single piece First Class stamp will remain at $0.55
- Additional Ounce Surcharge on Letters will return to $0.20 per ounce (currently $0.15)
- Single Piece Postcards – $0.35 to $0.36
- 1st Class Auto Presort is increasing 1.7% as a category. 5DGT 1 oz increase is .009
- 1st Class Auto Postcards are increasing 3.4% as a category. 5DGT increase is .009
- The increase to Nonprofit Letter mail is small – under 2% at the DSCF level and 1.4% at the Automation Category level
- Nonprofit Auto Flats under 4 oz are going up 3.4% as a category
- Rates for Priority Mail® and Priority Mail Express® will increase by 4.1% and 3.5% respectively, but those increases vary by Retail/Commercial, zone and weight
- On average, Commercial Base prices reflect a 14.4% discount off Retail prices
